The new album — Homage to Catalonia — comes out in January, with three singles leading into it in September, October, and November. But before any of that, I have to make a decision I can't undo: how many CDs to make, how much vinyl to press, and where on earth to ship it all from.

So I'm asking you first, because you're the people who'd actually be holding one.

Here's the honest situation. Now that I'm living in Europe, shipping isn't what it used to be. Sending a record from Spain to the US — or from a US warehouse over to Europe — means customs forms, VAT, and postage that can cost more than the record itself. The only way to do this properly is to press and ship on both sides of the Atlantic. And that only makes sense if I know roughly how many people want one, and where they are.

Vinyl especially. Pressing plants want the order months ahead, with a minimum run, paid up front. I'd rather press the right number of records than guess wrong and end up with 200 of them under my bed in Barcelona.
